I will admit I think we didn't get enough snow yet this year. I prefer getting snow around thanksgiving after most of the leaves have gone. I was aghast this year, there was green trees still on November 11th in lower FFC. I just wish March was the warm-up month. Lately it's been the "cold and depressing, by the way here a monster clobber of a storm" month.

I agree wholeheartedly on March. Warm it up. In my perfect world ..Christmas to March 1 it would be cold with tons of snow..then a quick warm up in March to 70's by April. One can dream.

Season Snowfall Totals in CT so far.

This includes the Coop and CoCoRaHS observers which some forget to measure or report so many can't be trusted but some can.

WBAN is the official NWS Climo Site Airport..

BDL: 25.9" (+0.7" above normal to date)
BDR: 20.6" (+4.9" above normal to date)

I never trusted that norfolk site. I never believed that they average about as much snow as buffalo new york. No other climate site even farther north in the berkshires at higher elevations in massachusetts gets as much snow as that norfolk observer.I believe it's the snowiest town in CT for sure, just not THAT much snow.

Tough to say without actually knowing who's measuring but you never know. It all adds up and it is called the "Ice Box" of CT. And they'll start accumulating in October-November.

Like today, they are forecasted to get 1" of snow while rest of state nothing but flurries.

If you use Nowdata from NWS Albany, click on "view Map" and choose the station.

There's only 2 in Litchfield county they have. Bakersville and Barkhamsted. You can see the daily data for the month or choose "Accumulation Graphs"

Here's the snowfall graph. 36.2" this yr. Highest to date was 83.2" in 1995-96

I'm surprised Danbury airport doesn't record snow. I think the Danbury listing is an inconsistent observer, as I find it hard to believe they have only 11" of snow this winter.....

Yeah, God forbid they have someone step outside to measure every 6hrs. So hard to do and takes forever. Lol.

I now the Darien observer so I agree on the 23" there.
