The areas Accuweather has as 1 to 3 NWS generally has as 3 to 6. And the areas in CT Accuweather shows as 3 to 6 NWS shows as about 6 to 9.

Its funny how NWS has worst case scenario being everyone getting 12 to 18 inches and best case almost everyone getting nothing (or does that mean everyone gets rain?). seeing the map you posted of where the rain and snow is right now I dont think at this point we are getting nothing anymore.....

Read the thread... others getting same feeling? Bust potential?

I think roads will be fine because we're on the far left side of the storm and typically like last time the center gets hammered.

I was hoping for another 12" storm. To me if we are going for 6-8 then just drop the other half and make it worthwhile.

I'm pretty confident SW CT is <4". NYC is 0-1"

That's a solid hate from me (even in January).

I absolutely have to buy a new shovel today.

This storm is going to have a wild east-west gradiant. i think that line will be further east than forecast so in that sense I think your numbers might be right. But eastern CT, eastern LI and Boston are going to have a whopper of a storm. I see a lot of similarities in this sense to the storms of early March 2001 and March 31/April 1 1997
