Thanks for the sun report. Doesn't sound like the atmosphere is thick enough with moisture.

1:50pm Map. Aside from the Long Island pink returns, looks like the heavier stuff is still where I circled. Not over CT

Note the snow icon is a bit darker within. Philly reporting heavy snow now

Started to stick to the roads here just north of NYC about an hour ago....is it doing that in CT? Though the map I saw seemed to suggest it is mostly snowing in southernmost CT

The Channel 30 weather just said Hartford area will likely not see snow until later today or even tonight. The dry air over Massachusetts is pushing south and keeping snow to the south. Says shoreline could still get 6 inches but did not say what Hartford would get. Jay

Closing schools for this? Mets specifically said little accumulation on black top in CT until dark. They'll probably close tomorrow too. No one should have closed. If you have early dismissal, everyone is home by now.

I am not sure how many towns closed completely for this. Maybe along the shore. Most towns in Hartford area had early dismissal. In hindsight even that was too much. Channel 30 is calling for snow to start here after dark with 3 to 6 inches. Further north it will be 2 to 3 inches. Jay

I didn't go through town by town, but saw a lot. Connecticut School Closings and Delays - WFSB 3 Connecticut

Honestly they have no business closing schools(especially hs/college) when there's a few inches of snow in CT. It's new england. And now they close when it's nothing. Worried about litigation? Make a state law making it illegal to sue and provide protections to the schools from lawsuits. They are frivolous lawsuits. Even Capitol community college in hartford closed. For what? Not even a dusting. And that's school for adults, not little kids.
