Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
727 AM EDT Sat Oct 7 2017

.SYNOPSIS...
A nearly stationary front over the region will move north as a
warm front today. A cold front slowly approaches late Saturday
night and stalls northwest of the area Sunday through Monday.
Meanwhile, the remains of Nate cross the area Monday night.
Another cold front crosses the area Tuesday followed by Canadian
high pressure through Thursday. Weak low pressure approaches
Friday.

Only minor changes were made to the hourly and dew point temperature forecasts to account for the latest observations and near term forecast trends. Otherwise...Areas of BKN stratus and light fog continues to develop and advect west from Long Island and coastal CT in a moist weak onshore flow.

Stratus clouds and light fog will gradually lift after 14z/10 am this morning.

A few patches of dense fog are possible. Daytime heating will help push a nearly stationary front overthe area to our north this morning. High pressure will remainin its wake. Partly cloudy skies with above normal high temperatures. Highs in the low-mid 80s for interior NE NJ away from any marine influence, ranging down to at least mid to upper70s along south-facing shores. The forecast high temps fall short of records by 3-5 degrees for the most part, but the record of 78 in 2013 at Bridgeport CT could be challenged. The current forecast high there is 77.

Ridiculous. Was doing outside work at 9am and had to stop. Suffocating. Dews are 10-20 above normal. Should be in the 40s this time of year!

Lunchtime and the dew points are that of mid summer. Muggy Mid 60s.

But wanna see pure disgusting? Look at Florida..

Here are the departures.. Parts of Wisconsin 20+ above normal with the dews.

Here's why it's so humid here and in the Ohio Valley.

Mid Level flow shown here... Atlantic Ridge pushing Ocean air in and some Gulf flow as well.

Florida temps feel like upper 90s & 100s today. WTF? lol

Would probably be the warmest if not for the cold spell in early September.....
