You got 70?! I didn't see over 45 between the Quiet Corner and Glastonbury all day!

I had to turn on the heat yesterday. It is running right now. Its 45 outside and don't see it going much higher today. Jay

I've got 51 - yay! (with a little sarcasm, it feels much colder)

I don't think my heat has been one for a few days.

Anyone realize that its a little extra colder with clouds around? I wonder if the quiet sun has something to do with that. I know low solar activity creates more clouds on earth but I wonder if the weaker solar radiation is making temps feel colder as well? Would need more digging for that. Just curious if that's possible.

Yup, it was quite the gradient. Look at the loop I posted yesterday afternoon with the temps. White Plains hit 75! NYC 78.. But the 70s stopped at my location and got colder further Northeast. I was on the warm side of the front.

I'm going to have to start the stove in a bit. Today is chilly again since that front sagged south of NJ now and these clouds wont break.. Look at these 2pm temps!

70s in Philly, 40s in suburbs of NYC. 30s and a deep fresh snowpack in Maine.

Also... did you see this? Anyone travelling to the Plains and Midwest? Another cold and snowy late and early season event. Been more common past 10yrs.

A look at April's Temp departures last 6 yrs. 5 of the last 6 have been below normal/normal for Connecticut.

It hit 80s in Mid April 2017. This WONT be a 2017 April or a 2018 either.

Two straight days without a hint of the sun. Ugh. So far April is worse than March was. March was cold but sunny!

Went to bed seeing full sun forecasted for next day. Woke up seeing today will be mostly cloudy. Ugh!

For this update the main adjustment was with respect to clouds
as IR imagery shows a good mid to upper level deck of clouds
streaking in from the west. Adjusted cloud cover up quite a bit
for today. The day could very well end up being mostly cloudy
across the western half of the area, with mostly sunny and
partly cloudy skies going mostly cloudy later on further east

Sun out in full by the Berlin/Newington town line for now.

The day is up to 13 hours 10 minutes.

The closest d-----t to New England right now is down in the Wilmington, NC area.

This is nuts (unless it's an inside joke)! How can we be even muttering the word "drought" under our breaths when it's been raining so frequently? You wanna see drought, go out west...
