1.43 inches at Brainard (HFD) since mid-Wednesday afternoon. The line which roughly paralleled I-84 in the late afternoon just grazed Newington by Chick-Fil-A and Target.

Made the mistake of wearing a black t-shirt today, forgetting that it's "cooler" but still humid as a M-F'er.

It's mostly minor in scope, buuuttttt...

Abnormal dryness (D0) has begun to develop in parts of southern New England and environs. On July 14, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported topsoil moisture 95% short in Connecticut. Based on short-term precipitation deficits and low streamflow values, a spot of D0 was introduced in western sections of Connecticut and Massachusetts, as well as a tiny sliver of eastern New York. From June 1 – July 16, rainfall in Hartford, Connecticut, totaled just 2.71 inches (43% of normal). During the same 46-day period, Poughkeepsie, New York, received 3.85 inches (58% of normal).

Of course, that isn't counting what fell since last evening. The cut-off time for that site is Tuesdays at 8 AM Eastern.

10:15am-2:15pm loop today July 18, 2019. As if Coastal CT needed more. This is what you call "training". Like a train of rain just redeveloping and dropping.

Should be interesting seeing tomorrows reports. Another batch in NJ right now making its way over.

Note Coastal Long Island and NJ...Nada. I'm gonna hit 7 inches for the month.

I wonder if we, in central CT, are going to get your rain. We did have a downpour for a little while yesterday. I thought today was supposed to be hot but it's just dull and cloudy. Oh--wait. Answered my own question by looking out the window. It has started to rain. So, a rainy day here.
