I needed to take a trip to Danbury and had extra time .. Is there anything on the way there ( from North NJ) or in that area ( nature or cultural anything unique) in this area ?? Will be driving

Litchfield County for sure.

Lake Waramaug, Hopkins Inn/Vineyard, covered bridges (Bull's Bridge/Cornwall), Kent Falls, Litchfield, great restaurants, etc.

Depends on your interests. There are a lot of beautiful old homes in the Hudson River Valley including Lyndhurst in Tarrytown and Franklin Roosevelts home in Hyde Park. Not for everyone but interesting to visit. Jay
