For sure. When I was looking around there (and when I lived in the area back in the day) I actually chose to live in West Haven (on the beach, near Woodmont) over New Haven, and drive. Most of the nicer units, in New Haven were just being built then.

360 is on the very high end. There’s some very nice 2BR’s on the market right now for 1600-2200.

I haven’t seen many “very nice” 2 bedrooms in NH for 1600. Maybe our definitions of “very nice” are different.

Avalons stink....the noise between apartments is usually terrible (unless they bought them from a different company!)
Exactly. It’s nice to see someone gets it.

“Luxury” appointed places appear to start around 1800-1900. But perfectly nice places can be had for less. Just might not have granite and such.

The prices jump a lot in the big new complexes

Let’s focus on the OP, either way.

Exactly the same in LA.

I’m not arguing LA/New Haven prices as it’s not really relevant to the thread. Just countering the idea that $2900 is normal for a 2BR when it’s very much on the upper end.

The city prices are starting to go up even in the lower areas. And to the op someting you have to watch out for is i had a coe worker move from out of state to new haven. He never been so was limited with online search. Found a place online and loved it. When he got here the place was in the middle of the hood. When he told me where he lived I thought he realized where he live then came the Horry stories which many were funny.

New haven has done a excellent job changing the look of certain areas so you might see a nice house for rent or apt and it could be in a bad area or very close. Just do your research and ask people that have lived there to guide you in the right direction once you found a couple of places.

Now if you were saying you were moving to north haven or Milford you wouldn't need much guidance due to much of the cities are nice but new haven is different
