I'm moving from Oahu to Hartford Connecticut / Springfield Massachusetts area and wanted to share a shipping container. I am flexible on a move date as my husband is moving to the East Coast ahead of me. If you already have only a fraction of your container left, I would still love to chip in to move some things.

Mahalo

DW will get a kick out of this. Her latest thing is to move to Hawaii.

I hope you are preparing for the drastic change in weather. It is funny though, I have a college friend that moved from Hawaii to Connecticut. He was stationed there for much of his naval career but came back to be near family. He and his wife were both from here so they knew what to expect. Good luck with your move and let us know if you have any questions. Jay

Do it! We’re planning to have a retirement place there, if prices allow in 20 years - lol.

Yeah, the one place that is more expensive than Connecticut to live. We know no one there, not sure where our kids will end up and we will be VERY far from family and friends. I doubt it will happen but it is a nice thing to consider on a cold New England day. Jay

Welcome to Connecticut and good luck with your move. I would think you'd want to contact the Hawaii forum to see if you can connect with somebody moving to this region of the country? I've been on and off this forum for a few years, but I don't recall anybody else asking about Hawaii to CT moves.

I have a friend that's pretty wealthy and lives in CT (they just returned from a 21 day Antarctica cruise) and I remember him complaining about the food prices in Hawaii a few years ago. And, he's the guy that rushes out to buy every new electronic gadget as soon as it hits the market. He was the first person I remember with an iPhone 10 years ago and he always bought the newest model when it came out (though, he didn't like the X and bought the 8 instead recently...)
