$530 Median list price / sq ft

Westport
$445 Median list price / sq ft

Bethel
$181 Median list price / sq ft

Ridgefield
$261 Median list price / sq ft

So, no, only less expensive per square foot than a few of the most expensive towns in CT (Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, and Westport), not most of FFC.
Paradise Valley only has a population of 13,000. Why not compare the two counties. Data from this site.

Maricopa County
HH Income..................$58,737
Median House Value......$239,300

Fairfield County
HH Income..................$90,123
Median House Value......$423,200

An that is why my cousin from Stamford is living large in Maricopa County (he is near Phoenix).

I’m well aware the county is much cheaper overall...

Thank you everyone, this has been very useful to decide! We are currently finishing packing and we decided we will give it a shot! God willing, everything will be fine. I will sure miss so many things from the northeast, but as many of the comments said, happy wife, happy life.

Will keep everyone posted!

You can always move back if you don’t like it after awhile.

Thank you for any info you can provide! I have a wife and 2 kids (one 4 year old and one 1 year old). Main reason why we are deciding to move is because my wife cant handle the winter anymore. An opportunity in AZ showed up and we want to make a smart decision before we accept the offer.

Currently in Stamford, CT my Gross Salary is $97,850, and the proposed Gross salary in Scottsdale, AZ is of $90,000. I understand is lower than what I currently make here but, can someone help me understand when put everything on a balance, would it be a bad idea to move for less or better to wait for an equal matching opportunity even though the cost of living of both cities is different?

I tried to research more about the cost of living comparison, salary wage calculators, but whatever I found dont seem accurate...

Thank you in advance for any information!

Fabio
I'm sorry I can't help you but I do find it notable that weather is the reason you are moving. Supporting my theory that a large portion of the migration out of CT has little to do with anything other than weather and a more mobile workforce.

A combination of factors in general but usually one major factor for each family. Weather, employment and cost of living are all reasons, depending on the individual/family of course.
