Only the political class and celebrity class deserve to have guns protecting them!

Nothing will ever change via the Government in regards to the increase violence. Need less gun restrictions. Instead more funding for mental health and create a Federal Mental Health Department. More funding for public safety.

I don't think a school walkout is the way to go since that will just be seized on as "kids looking for an excuse not to go to school".
And the conspiracy criticism- such as "crisis actors" is already in full swing in the Murdoch media.

However, I think protests and political activism among HS kids is fantastic and am so glad they are willing to step up to the plate since the gov't has been such a failure on this issue and has been totally bought off by the NRA.

It's criminal that so much slaughter of children has to take place first.

While there may be some who take advantage of this, I think the vast majority just want to send our politicians a message about THEIR future. That is the most important part of this and other protests being planned across the country. Jay

Agree- but you'll be surprised how much advantage the right wing media will take on whatever tiny point or lie they can.

Agree with you but, to be fair, left wing media is just as bad...

An AR is not an assault rifle. Assault weapons don't exist. It's an incorrect term used to stir up emotions and force a narrative. It appears to be working, people are buying into it, and the media loves makes money off of a senseless tradegy because division is profitable.
My goodness, the platitudes and talking points of the pro gun crowd are wearing thin. “It’s not technically an assault weapon”, “laws only hurt the law abiding”, “guns don’t kill people, people kill people”, “guns in the hands of civilians have stopped crimes 23,453 times”.

It’s all BS and gets us nowhere.

Care to explain why current federal laws are too restrictive for you?
