Four decades of being a registered Democrat. I'm pretty sure I've NEVER voted for a Republican candidate. I own property in New Britain, and I've seen what Stewart has done there. I just switched my party registration so I can vote for her in the primary.

Other than putting bike lanes all over the city, which no car drivers respect, what has she done ?

All the transportation improvements and realignment of bus stops was going to happen with or without her. Same thing with the new police station.

Even smarter..vote out each incumbent regardless of party. Neither party works for their constituents. It is about power and wealth. There are enough stories about corruption on both sides to know system is rotten. Putting them on their heels each cycle sends a message not to get too comfy.

Former Governor Rowland? One of many, on both sides.

I switched from Independent to Republican in 2014 so I could vote for McKinney in the last primary. Not that it amounted to much, but still, I believed in him at the time.

I voted for McKinner I that primary too. He would have been a much more viable candidate. Jay

She stopped the previous mayor's "Kill my landlord" laws that made landlords responsible for criminal tenants. When Josh Solomon lied to her right up until the day he announced that filthy deal with Hartford to build him a new stadium at taxpayer expense, she went right out and got a new ball team, and locked Solomon out of the stadium until he paid his overdue tax bill. She negotiated new healthcare contracts with the city unions, making them go into cheaper high-deductible with linked HSA plans (just like the rest of us peons lucky enough to have health insurance have), in place of their highly expensive tiny copay plans. She got rid of New Britain's deficit, and created a surplus instead.

Shall I go on? For me, it's enough. Oh, and I don't have to worry about her signing anti-abortion bills that would endanger the health and human rights of women.

With all the belly-aching about bloated union benefits, and ridiculous union and public employee pensions, I would have thought that Republicans would be flocking to someone who actually has a proven track record of DOING something about it, and fixing a deficit. Guess not. Could it be that this candidate lacks a certain crucial qualification? That over half the inhabitants of this earth don't have?

The bike lanes were and are (because I noticed some are repainted) a waste of money. I rode all over the city as a kid and never needed a darn bike lane. I survived, even without a helmet. Geez, I'd ride from home behind Diloreto, down to the Boys Club, play basketball for hours, then bike home.... Can't do that now.....heck, I'd probably not make it to the Boys Club these days and it's mostly downhill....LOL
