Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever read, lmao. If 300 million people boycotted Exxon and Mobil (which, ahem, are the same company) then they would just go out of business , lol. Competition and abundant supplies is what brings prices down. We don't really have either right now.

I've received it a few times via e-mail. In every case, I take into consider the sender's frustration with the current situation.

Remember the dates: 11/04/2008 and 01/20/2009 (especially the latter).

Food for thought: if you spend $50 per week on gas, that's $1.70 per hour of your wages (pre-tax).

We run on government subsidized oil in this country. Gas IS cheap in the US compared to the rest of the world. Try going to England and paying $9/gallon. If our prices reflected the real cost, people wouldn't be so wasteful.
