Yeah but I don't think there are significant backups now east of New Haven. The new Q Bridge has made crossing there a lot easier. Jay

Generally true - it does get significantly backed up still between Branford and Madison where there are two lanes heading south, and bottlenecks a bit in the evening. And even worse is the traffic through West Haven.
