Per reports, I guess this is good for lower FFC but really shocked by Queens location. Expensive and congrestion nightmare.

I just saw this and was surprised. The question is will this be good for Connecticut? We do not have train service to Long Island City so I doubt it. Anyone think otherwise? Still good for the region though. Jay

I think these two areas already have the 2nd and 3rd most employees of amazon already. Just seems like a move by Amazon to get tax breaks in areas they already have large workforces.

You may potentially have it if the Sunnyside yard station gets built and the Penn Station Access plan happens.

You just hop on the 7 subway from Grand Central and you're there, right? It's the east end of the Midtown Tunnel. Way shorter than a commute to a Wall Street job.

I was just on the Blue Line passing through Crystal City last week. That's a good location, too.

There's a blurry line between "large presence" and "HQ". Amazon already has a bunch of tech jobs in Boston and more are coming. When you're that huge, it kind of makes sense to distribute things.

The 7 train from GCT to LIC is only a few stops. So it's feasible. And driving into Queens is easier than driving into Manhattan (although with the influx of Amazon people, that may change). We may get some Amazon folks living in FFC, but probably not a lot.

This is not going to benefit us. As much as we pride ourselves on our close proximity to the city, CT will see no benefit from this. If it were in our state, then yes. As long as we continue to rely on closeness to other larger cities, instead of how we can attract private investors and private money into our own, we will not be benefactors.

LI city is quick access to GCT. For such a huge presence they may even have shuttles. It’s against traffic and could be a 15 min ride from GCT.

Also, anything that thins the talent pool is good for the whole region. SW CT can absolutely have *some* benefit from this, despite the naysayers.
