The early voting bill has passed the state senate. On to the governor for his signature.

Probably baseless claims of fraud and abuse with early voting?

It’s silly that voting needs to be done on one day. It shouldn’t even be called “early voting”. Voting should be able to be done over a weekend or a weeklong period regardless. It’s too important and too many life events/circumstances pop up last minute and someone shouldn’t be punished for that.

It also gives people the chance to mail in, then hit the booth too before the mail-in is received.

Lamont is sprinting to the first pen he sees

Even the reddist of the red states that are most likely to come up with some voter fraud conspiracy do early voting. CT is one of four states (Alabama, Connecticut, Mississippi and New Hampshire) that currently do not allow it.

It is about damn time we catch up with the rest of the country.

Analysis has been done on this and it’s so so so minimal…it would be like someone not wanting to fly because the plane might crash.

So someone is going to risk fraud/penalties/jail to vote twice, which may or may not actually count twice, so their one vote counts twice in a state with 3.5M people?

As stated, red states that cry about this stuff allow it anyways. If the “Dems are so good at voter fraud” then what’s stopping the people that want trump to do the same exact thing. Silly .

My only argument against early voting is you never know what newsworthy information could come out between when you vote early (especially very early) and Election Day.. that might sway a vote..

Can you change your vote somehow in early voting?

No, you cannot change your vote.

It’s not a requirement to early vote, it’s just an option you have.

No different than booking a non-fundable hotel room. No one is forcing you to book it. However, what is circumstances change? What if the weather is terrible and you don’t want to go non your trip? Well, that’s a risk you take. Most people that vote early wouldn’t change their mind based on something that could happen a week prior. Don’t want to risk it? Don’t vote early then.

You can wait if you think there is a chance something might swing your vote. Odds that there is any late news that will impact my vote is very, very low in most cases. The positives far outweigh the negatives.
