Best City to be Single--#1 Stamford/Norwalk/Bridgeport.

Or if you are married and still like to party down. I still have a good time in Stamford/Norwalk/Bridgeport despite being married. It's a good time to be had by all.

Meanwhile, New Haven was just ranked as the second worst city for dating by another study.

Goes to show you how meaningless these rankings are.

Ah come on, any list that has Pittsfield, MA and Lawrence, KS in the top 5 cities for singles seems pretty legit. lol

These are all clickbait “studies”.

Clickbait, but gotta say that is a great shot of Bridgeport's CBD.

Sure it's clickbait, but the three cities are definitely growing and collectively have a lot going for them.

I think it is pretty accurate for the Stamford/Norwalk/Bridgeport area.

I had always thought that the greater Stamford area (where I am from) was a great place to be single from the time I was young and single. You have a great possibility to marry into money or get a great education and get the money yourself. Also you have a pretty high possibility of marrying someone with a college degree or masters degree.

I am on the committee for my Westhill High School reunion in Stamford and I am contacting many classmates right now, especially on Facebook. Most of my classmates have done very well for themselves and most have all married well also. Many of us are still in the greater NYC area. Quite a few are up in the Boston area too.

I do think the dating scene in the greater NYC region (and maybe the northeast corridor in general) has a lot going for it, for men at least. NYC is overflowing with smart, ambitious, classy, and attractive women. There is a legitimate surplus of young, single women compared to men. Density/Proximity makes it very easy to meet people as well.

You can pretty much flip the script for places like Bay Area & Seattle (with the exception of levels of education). In other metros traditionally known for attractive women (LA, SD, Miami), it's much harder to find the well-rounded women you find in the NYC metro.
