Hi,
Due to a job opportunity I am looking to relocate from Boston to the East Longmeadow, Longmeadow area in Western Mass. Because it is so close to the CT border I wonder if towns like Somers, CT (very close to East Longmeadow) would be a better bet. I am not familiar with either area and need to make a decision quickly. I have heard that people who work near the CT/MA border actually choose to live in Mass, due to a better tax deal.
Does anyone have any insight??
Thanks in advance for any help!

Taxes for real estate are somewhat lower in Mass, gasoline is cheaper (lower taxes) and there is no tax on alcoholic beverages purchased in stores from my experience.

Longmeadow Mass is a very pleasant community- as is Somers CT- I would visit both towns, price real estate, taxes and local services. From this you can evaluate the pluses and minuses of both places.

Somers was voted last year by Money Magazine as one of the best towns in the USA to live.

Visit the Mass forum for additional help on Longmeadow and the Springfield area.
