Meanwhile, on the rain end of things: Hit or miss with dry patches for us in Connecticut. The southeast is a lot worse off than us.

I'll take my raw day seeing where the bottom edge of the front is. 90s in VA under the sunny ridge while we're under the front. Thank You front!

I see 100 degrees in west-central Alabama. Just think...it was 95 degrees at Philadelphia's airport (PHL) yesterday.

It was 95 even closer to us than that yesterday....at LaGuardia and JFK! And Newark was 96.

The hottest temperature in the US yesterday was in Alabama, that has to be fairly unusual. It was 105 at some small airport there. Something like that will probably happen today too, a friend of mine who now lives in Raleigh, NC said he was going to a Carolina Hurricanes game to "cool off from the heat with some ice because it's 100 out" (though he is a big hockey fan). I couldn't believe his statement given the weather here today but I looked it up and their high today was 99!

Temps are a little cooler than forecasted. The weather app on phones (terrible source BTW) says 42 for the overnight low. I'm calling 38 at my local station.

Cam, do you think they'll extend the frost advisories down to the coast in FFC and NHC?

I dont think so. Still too early for south of Merritt. If these winds keep up forget it.

Might be one or 2 spots with frost but nothing that will kill plants

While frost can form with air temps in upper 30s, frost doesnt always form with air temps under 35°
