I love these Canadian High Pressures.

But the light winds tonight will prevent a bigger drop in temps. Still...40s chilly for September.

Tomorrow night no winds so heat will escape surface easier at night.

Quote:
High pressure over the Great Lakes builds east tonight with a
dry, unseasonably cool airmass working into the region
overnight. Northerly winds will remain gusty with a relatively
tight pressure gradient between the departing frontal system
and the strong high building in.

Gusty winds tonight will prevent substantial radiative cooling even
under dry conditions and clear skies. Low temperatures will drop into
the 40s for much of the area with localized spots in the middle to
upper 30s for northern portions of the Lower Hudson Valley and Northern
Fairfield County in CT. It is possible there may be areas of patchy
frost in the coldest of spots.

Gusty winds during the morning on Saturday should diminish gradually
through the late morning and afternoon as the high pressure builds
overhead. Clear skies and dry conditions will persist through
the day and through Saturday night.

With winds diminishing, clear skies, and dry conditions,
Saturday night may be a better radiative cooling night with low
temperatures in the 40s. Some spots in the northern interior
counties may drop into the 30s with patchy frost possible again

These are the mornings I dream about in July. Below 50, windy and the sun. I wish it was like this every day.

Fall is here, that’s for sure. The AC is off and the windows are open to let in that cool crisp fall air. Soon a big pot of soup will be on the stove. Love it. Apple cider and pumpkins. Oh boy, Jay
