Last time there was snow during Christmas week. Last time I remember a big storm then was in 2010-2011. That snow made for interesting Christmas lighting patterns .
I was in west Hartford for Christmas break with my aunt & uncle that year. We got 26” of heavy wet snow. We built snowmen and put lights underneath them so that at night we could turn them on and see the snowman glow.

I'd be very surprised if I didn't get at least an inch of rain today.

Didn't expect rain all day! Another 0.30" fell. Total still under 1" here.

3 Maps...

Loop past couple hours.. There is actually a storm off the coast that gave us this extra rain. See the clouds spinning off the coast? That's the center of it. Moving out now. Chilly today again! Got my stove on.

Rain total. This is just till 7am this morning.

Here are the totals in numbers. Looks like the northern CT river valley will go over 1" after todays rain (which is reported at 7am tomorrow morning)

West Hartford: 1.07"
Canton: 1.05"

I'll update again tomorrow if I remember.

Wont have time later... Reports still coming in but here's the latest rain totals for past couple days

I doubt that 5"+ is accurate. Maybe? Plainville with 3.91". I see some spots where 3"+ rain fell. Most areas got 1-2"+ but some spots got jipped with less than an inch.

Nice to see we got some rain!

I saw at least 2.08 inches in Hartford. The Connecticut finally has some life, crossing over it on the train, between Enfield and Windsor Locks late Tuesday afternoon.

I live in the cluster of the red/orange (probably right at the 3.11in) and I'd say that's totally accurate. It rained hard all day yesterday.

The Connecticut River definitely looked better today. Looking south in the 11 am hour, crossing from Windsor Locks to Enfield.

I think Springfield, MA got to at least 71. Awesome day!

I remember 2012 was the year when there was accumulating snow in October. I don’t think that will happen again.
