Is any of what you said true? Kind of sounds like nonsense.

What happens when you get fridgid Arctic record cold air pushing east with moisture from a Tropical storm coming up? Timing Timing Timing

Record Cold/Snow inside that trough. Rain Thursday for us then we'll see how much moisture is left when the cold air filters into CT. Could change to snow for northern half at least and elevations above 1500'

Well... the good news is...leaves are weak, changing, and falling...
The bad news is... we would be cursed!

BTW - Ice storm in Oklahoma/Texas with leaves on trees. Widespread power outages happening. That cold is coming our way with tropical moisture.

Very aggressive post Cam - particularly when only one ensemble out of dozens (from Icon/ECM models) are showing measurable snow for Southern CT

Well two things...

Look at our recent history

Also, weather patterns go in cycles..if its cold in November, the chances of it staying cold throughout the winter are possible of course...but chances are good a warm cycle pulse will follow. Then a cold cycle pulse and so on. Ideally cold weather settles in during December so it cycles out by March.

Of course anything can happen.

All depends on the TIMING. This is quite a sensitive setup, being early season, and it involves the remnants of a tropical storm... all ingredients for sensitivity in a storm. Models are going to flip-flop quite a lot but I wouldn't be surprised if we manage to get "first flakes" in October this year.

Whether is manages to stick or be anywhere near measurable is an entirely different question.

Yup.. while the October 2011 snowstorm happened during the day this one is different in the sense that the cold air is catching up to it.

Also... if there is a 2nd low forming we'll defintly see stickage since the cold air will be in place.

New Euro has it starting later than previous update.

Cold fronts always are slower than anticipated for CT so keep that in mind.

Either way.. Euro12z says we see snow falling Friday
