Long range predictions show heavy snow is possible in Eastern New England around mid December. Let’s hope this one churns out 2 feet for Connecticut, since it’s long overdue.

Map tomorrow morning with my annotations.

So... Reason for our rain/storm tomorrow is because a strong storm is heading towards the great Lakes from central U.S.. That will drag a cold front across as we get a southerly flow ahead of it.

Rain should start this evening and continue into the night. Winds will pick up because the cold air is forcing back in and will be COLD after that

Remember....... GLC (Great Lake Cutters) are not a track we want if you want snow. NO NO.

A storm that tracks West of us is a rain or cold rain storm. A storm that tracks to Great Lakes is pretty much a torch for us with warmth.

In motion... see the storm track and the rain for us?

28.4° low this morning. Lots of 20s out there and the rain is 400 miles away. That time of year when we say, " its cold enough to snow right now, then hours later it rains"

Scattered snowflakes Tuesday with a strong NW flow for entire state. Don't be surprised to see them.

Super cold airmass but doesn't last long. 1 day.

We don't get much snow from the Lakes. We need clippers or a coastal storm to really add up the totals.

Loop past 4hrs with storm reports. See it coming across?

Lots of trees/wires down reports in Ohio into PA with that line as the cold front pushes in..
Seeing reports of 55-65mph gusts.

Yellow outline = Thunderstorm Warning. Orange = 60% Probability of a Watch . Western CT is inside that zone.

What would really bring a lot of sustained snow is a mid winter back door low from Greenland, but that almost never happens.
I only saw it happen once, in February, and the back door low caused 3 straight days of snow in eastern New England.

Go outside and listen. WOW. Warm winds from the south ahead of the front. From the west behind it.

Arrow icons = trees/limbs down.

I'm gusting over 30mph here frequently.

Tornado warning for Westchester and some of Fairfield County for now

Strong southerly flow meets strong west flow = Spin up in some spots

That's one nasty line

We did spend some time in the lower level family room when the warning flashed on the screen. Glad I took the wife's advise and didn't bother with leaves yesterday.
