I'm with you on that.....

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
400 PM EST Tue Jan 19 2021

The polar front drops southward into the region on Thu. The area will be
moisture starved, and the position of the h3 jet stream attm looks a bit
too far north to produce good divergence aloft.

Temps are actually expected to go blw normal over the weekend.

The models have been advertising low pressure tracking eastward in the
Mon/Tue time frame with a band of accumulating snow north of the
low.

The track has trended steadily southward the last few days, with the
ECMWF now too far south to produce anything across the area. GFS is
further n and impacts the area. A blended approach was used for
probs, with the NBM used. This places the fcst area in the 30 pct
range.

I'll say it again, Cam...you really need to move to the leeside of the Great Lakes. It would do wonders for your mental state. Not just the obvious reason, but from my years in Cleveland, even the summers were super pleasant from the lake breeze.

But why when I had 7 years in a row like this?! Totally fine with this. BRING IT BACK!

No need to move to Great Lakes area...Even northern Litchfield County would be fine. Norfolk has 32". Canaan has 22".

Are you guys enjoying the snow or Graupel Squalls today and sunshine?

This is in response to the Polar Front. It's in the teens only 5000' above us! The push is producing some nice wind gusts too.

Cold morning in the teens out there! Load up that stove! Or turn the TStat up. Whichever you prefer.

That snow isn't making it to the ground. maybe a few spots?

Snowfall total departures so far...

Bridgeport, NYC & Hartford barely hanging on to being above normal.
+1" for NYC. +0.1" for LaGuardia. but -1.5" for JFK
Bridgeport +0.6"
Hartford +2.2"
Providence +0.6"

Look at Syracuse and Rochester! Parts of Texas still has more snow this season than Rochester(16.9").

Yeah, but we get snows via "events". The lake effect is something else altogether...it would literally snow every few days without synoptic effects.
