That is a very weird precip/cloud pattern.....all north/south! Looks like just 100-200 miles to both the east and west it's clear! That almost looks like a large warm season version of a NORLUN trough!

Its the return of the jet stream flow. Makes sense when you look at the temp map I posted. Jet stream pumped north into Midwest Canada bringing southerly hrst humidity while dipping into northeast so we get that north flow. Reason why we stayed in the 70s past week and tomorrow 60s!

This was from 5 days ago. That heat dome shifted east to Midwest now.

I didn't realize there was an Upper cutoff Low off the coast.

Stationary front over the area drifts westward today. The front dissipates across western New Jersey tonight as a wave of low pressure develops along the North Carolina coast and moves Northeast tomorrow..

Cool setup. Clouds in the Midwest moving East. Clouds on east coast moving South. Clouds over the Atlantic moving north.

On the left is the temp departure past 2 weeks.
On the right is for entire month.

Connecticut still normal-slightly above normal for the month even though the past 2 weeks has been 2-3 below normal.
