-3 to -5C (23-26F) at 5000', nothing extreme but that should be enough to cause instability with a warm lake.

Should be some lake effect .

No snow chances in CT yet. With the early leaf changes we wouldn't have to worry about fully leafed out trees if we got snow soon

Wonder when we'll have freeze warnings for us.. Nothing yet. Seems like the south gets cold and snow before us. I think last year the Carolinas got snow before us. lol

Worcester and Hartford maybe (since they "average" just over and just under an inch) but definitely not Boston and Providence.

Even NYC Central Park has an average (just for the 1991-2020 period they use for the temperature normals) of 0.1" for October now due to the 2.9" on Oct 29, 2011 divided by the 30 years of record used to get that average even though you can count on one hand the number of times they had accumulating October snow in their entire 153 year record. In no other 30 year period did they average measurable snow for October and despite even an average of 0.6" for November, their average date of first measurable snow is sometime in December (things like the 6.5" in November, 2018 and 4.7" in November, 2012 bring that month's average up but most Novembers there either have a trace or nada)
