Surprised the snow made it this far west. Only flurries here. Looks like some accumulations in MA

Coastal storm is now 425 miles off the coast. The precip is not from the storm. I would have to read some discussions because this is above my paygrade to explain why the precip is happening. Looks like the front backing in?

Got it... There's a second low closer to the coast

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Gray ME
721 AM EST Mon Jan 16 2023

.SYNOPSIS...
A coastal low will continue to track north today into Nova
Scotia.

Complex and messy winter storm will continue to
impact much of the region through today bringing every
precipitation type possible to some locations.

Satellite imagery early this morning shows low pressure continuing
to become better organized well offshore of the Delmarva with a
secondary low offshore of Cape Cod. These lows are helping to
provide broad cyclonic flow and lift across New England
, with bands
of mixed wintry precipitation moving from east to west across the
region.

So just so you guys have a visual.. the German model does EXACTLY what we need for a snowstorm...

Watch the low form over the Gulf of Mexico and exit the Florida coast then come up the coast but stays far enough away.

Latest GFS says no coastal storm, its a storm that heads to the great lakes instead and brings in warm air to us. Maybe it doesn't want to change status quo. lol

Lets see if Euro continues with the snowy solution and lets see if GFS starts agreeing with Euro.

All models have rain now for 23rd.

Active Pattern continues.. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
No precip with cold, rain with warmth, fantasy past 7 days which ends up being rain.

Check out what Euro says for 26th. Blizzard Bomb

At least the storms are there, just gotta get the right setup.

This is better than no activity at all I guess. Can we just get 1 to happen? Just 1?
