Precip type looking like its tied directly to the returns. Had a burst of sleet at the onset of this wave, where the returns were light, but once the heavier returns moved in, the temperature dropped and turned into full snow. Interesting dynamics. I can see why its elevation dependent as well, very sensitive column...

Surface temperatures are lower than what models are saying. Wonder how the 850s are doing, if they are also similarly below, then we could be in for a surprise. But I would venture against that, the 850s are probably sampled well.

Still snowing at 32' in Fairfield. Very impressive that it's still snowing given that 2m air temp is 35.2 (and dropping!)

More snow in March than February....AGAIN!!!!!!!

Absolutely DUMPING here right now, my road is completely snow covered and this stuff is really wet. Jacket got soaked lol

Changed back to heavy snow but still no accumulation. It's been snowing/ mixing for 5 hours.

I'm at rain now.
Colors represent temps at 5000'. You always need this level below freezing to see snow.


Southerly surge warming this level up above freezing now =. Note where it's raining vs where its snowing


Also note what the Lake warmth is doing. Below freezing at 5000' but surface too warm and precip not falling hard enough
