I haven't checked the forecasts but I'm gonna guess it's gonna be windy today or tomorrow.

We are wedged between an Ocean storm and High Pressure. Meanwhile a strong storm in the plains is also pressing against the High Pressure.

I know, I need a calm day so I can put down some preemergent.

Forsythias are blooming, do it now. Sunday rain so will be perfect to get it watered in by mother nature. Try to do it today or tomorrow.

Spring is so tricky for us. It's like the heat comes so fast but it can get so cold at night. Hard to manage landscaping sometimes. It's never a slow transition. lol

Yea I'll be doing it today, seems like it'll be pretty calm.

Do you mind if I ask what brand/product you use? New homeowner...choosing spring fertilizers is like walking through the cereal aisle!

Omega Block Pattern. My favorite for Spring if we're in the middle. Absolutely Awesome!!

Vortex to left. Vortex to Right. Sunny, Warm and Dry in the middle. Awesome April so far.

This is my first spring at this house, so this year I'm trying an Ace brand preemergent/fertilizer combo from the local store. So not sure how it will do on this lawn yet. I'm still slowly working it into shape.

These 60's to low 70's, with dry sunny days and slight breeze are my favorite days.

The newest drought monitor depicts Connecticut with the status quo. It got worse in VT and NH. Abnormally dry conditions popping up for coastal York County, ME (i.e. York and Old Orchard Beach).

Low 70s and comfortably humidity sure felt good today, didn't it?

I've had a lot of success with Scott's Crabbgrass preEmergent.

Then I switched to Dimensions Pre Emergent with fertilizer. Same results. Happy with it

This year I am trying a granular liquid Prediamin. We'll see.

The trick is timing. Too late now. The weed seeds have woken up thanks to the warm sunny days.

It's a tough window because we go from cold to hot quick.

Rule of thumb is when Forsythias "start" blooming it's time to do PreEmergent. (Yellow flowering bushes)

Good luck
