Anyone can recommend a drywall contractor who is familiar with decoupling walls? (whisper clips, furring channel, hat channel, green glue etc.).

Thank you.

What part of the state are you looking for? While a small state, or gotta give us some context around location or this question is pointless

Thank you! Will give him a call tomorrow. Looking at that you recommended clips I hope the contractor you are talking about knows something about soundproofing.

Any guidance on what was the damage per sq.ft?

It wasn’t bad at all. Don’t remember price per square foot but very reasonable. The drywall contractor I had only did the Drywall itself (nailed to channel) and Green Glue, I had a handyman install the channel and clips.

If you can afford to lose the space, doubling up on 5/8” drywall is very effective.

Research Sound Transmission Control or STC ratings. Multipule layers and staggered studs to RC Channels can reduce sound transmission.

Talk about specialization. Did they rip off the drywall or it was a new wall? I need to rip off existing drywall and decouple it. Do you have your handyman's number too?
