I dont want to broadcast Hartford too much.. but dang, all metrics on the metro point favorably.
Hartford Metro area is definitely an excellent value, however, there is a key reason for that: It's neither in the Boston metro nor NYC metro -- at best it forms its own metro area or may be grouped with Springfield. Despite being a twin economic engine for CT, it's simply weaker than NYC/Boston metros in the economic opportunities, proximity to amenities/world-class cities.

In contrast, FFC has proximity to NYC and its high-paying jobs/businesses, the Sound, etc. You can come back to FFC from Grand Central and still enjoy fine dining, the beach, etc.

This does not downgrade the Hartford area at all -- You can buy an amazing house in West Hartford for one million that would be 3x-4x higher elsewhere because the housing demand is limited.

That guy has been trying to sell the castle on and off for years! He built it amid an uproar in Woodstock, mostly because people don't live in Woodstock to have a massive castle used for commercial purposes in their backyard. The owner, who is an heir to some steel tycoon's fortune, has tried to make it a zoo (!!), a bed and breakfast, and some other business ventures. This is case of generational wealth gone mad.

The architect should not be allowed to design another project. Not even a dog house. That "castle" is hideous.

Even Rapunzel wouldn't buy that thing.

Just yesterday this guy I know in Fairfield on the beach is looking for a forest home somehwere. Put bids on fixer uppers in Fairfield, Norwalk, and Wilton. Lost out on all of them. 2 were accepted but then was ghosted by the realtors. Eventully he got in touch and they told him sellers accepted other offers. Cash too.

It's still hot. Unbelievable

I'd lean into the gimmick and make it a really silly castle themed wedding venue. Backyard jousts etc.

That's the ONLY use case I could ever see for that monster.

This is how you do an eccentric castle: https://www.ctvisit.com/listings/gil...tle-state-park

But you can't buy taste.

I’m trying to think of a way to class that thing up, but I just can’t.

WFSB interviewed the owners daughter about the castle. It’s owned by the Mark family who built it for their two young daughters. The daughters are now grown and college bound so the family is ready to sell. Below is a link to the clip. Jay

That's not a bad idea. Is it in a commercial zone? you can do Cinderalla stuff, haunted Halloween tours, Christmas and Holiday tours, jousting like you said, endless possibilities.

Gillette is more appropriate in line with a true European castle.
