At least 60 percent of people are not going to step foot into a public space(stores restaraunts or business) if this virus is not under control. Most will work from home if they can. Most normal people think over 1800 deaths a day is beyond unacceptable. What's the point of opening things back up again if 60 percent of people can't or won't partake in it? The economy will suffer until this virus is completely under control and people are not under threat of death. Most rational people understand this is a highly contagious and deadly disease and we can't just go back to the way it was.

Numbers are in late today

Connecticut has 1,000 new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing our total to 8,871

1,418 patients have been hospitalized and there have been 58 new deaths bringing total to 335 fatalities.

Underlying health problems also contribute to susceptibility to the virus among African Americans and Hispanics.

State reports indicate that 12 African Americans per 100,000 total population have died, compared to 9 whites per 100,000. Two Asian Americans and three Hispanics per 100,000 have died.

Seriously Another YouTube video of baseless conspiracy theories. The facts and truth are over 1000 deaths per day and that is unacceptable to most people. I mean really. Nobody is going to walk into a death trap if they can help it. The economy is going to suffer if you try to open it back up. Doing so you are willfully enabling worldwide genocide.

Exactly.....I agree with Mixum despite the ridiculous "conspiracy theory" videos that "logically" we can't go to June 1, etc. but if we reopen and this happens we'll actually be in worse shape than we are now and it won't be and "artificially created downturn" anymore than we can reverse by basically "turning the lights back on". We only have one chance to really get this right.....

We keep being told at "work" (i.e. distance staff meetings) all week that Lamont has promised to decide on this by Friday....if that's true I'm betting he just goes for the rest of the school year and hopes we are in good shape for a regular open in the fall.
