Well car accidents are down significantly, work accidents down, you can go on an on. So are we just trading deaths?
Flu kills 35-70k s year.....most who die from CV 19 had other issues and we're close to their last days already.

Yes a year from now some might wish for a do over.

Then again something to think about Fairfield county numbers are mostly so high cause of that one reported party.....which I heard had way more than the 40 guests claimed.
Live in the vicinity.

Amen. I said exactly that many pages back. If this is the new normal every time we have a disease, we’re in for a rude awakening.

That’s probably a better question for the Economic thread.

Quite possibly. See my post in the current events thread. I think data is what can turn this all around.

I didn’t see your post but I completely agree. The problem is people [politicians] can manipulate data to say what they want.

The ignorance surrounding this is has been so mind boggling.

Opinion piece on this: https://www.statnews.com/2020/03/17/...reliable-data/

The media does not want to shine a light on this failure to produce reliable data. The federal government is not focused on testing enough.

With trillions of dollars, entire economic sectors, and the financial well-being of billions at stake, thinking is that this event will redefine what it means to work from home/telecommuting. Internet and computer infrastructure/access have the potential to reshape where a lot of work can be done, and companies/governments who haven't invested or adapted to bring their businesses/services to the 21st century (and could have) may now be finally inclined to.
