Home address.

Blows my mind how few people understand this. They literally think there's some magic counter that knows exactly who's infected, when, and that everyone is being tested. It's pure ignorance.

Just a perspective... not even Italys death numbers with this virus are near where U.S deaths are with the regular flu. 'Just saying'

I was thinking about this when I saw there were hardly any cases in the African continent. Could it be.....

1) They don't have the resources to test and people are getting it but we just don't know about it.
or
2) Could it be the fact that many African countries are on the malaria drug already that they are starting to test in NYC on Covid-19 patients.
or
3) Heat and humidity may slow it down.

Or a combination of all three?
I think it's the first - they simply aren't testing as they don't have the resources. Last week, there were cases in 36 of the 54 countries and a total of 60,000 test kits.

As of Sunday, Nigeria - Africa's most populous nation - had less than 50 cases. But they had tested only 152 people. They had their first case 2 months ago and only stopped international flights without quarantine yesterday.

I would say it's #1

Remember how WV was virus-free? Until you read the article about the lady who tried to get her sick husband tested. One of the phone numbers was a dead end, she was turned away at the ER...... he was positive and I think she ended up being positive too. They've only tested 759 so far people and 5% (39) are positive.

We've tested nearly 6000 people

Though I do like your #2 & #3 options!

South Africa is not warm or humid right now.

Also isn't malaria not such a big problem there that you take chloroquine daily?

The data is a little hard to find, but Italy's worst flu season in the past 10 years had 68,000 deaths.
