Hi,

I am moving out of CT, and I will be shipping my car to the new state.

Is it necessary to perform all these steps:
Step 1. Cancel registration online.
Step 2. Surrender plates to the dmv.
Step 3. Go to local tax accessor officer and tell him that I have completed steps 1 and 2

If I do just the step 1, is it going to be enough?

Not quite, because you would still owe property tax to your town. They don't just take your word.

You need to get/print a copy of a receipt for the plates, and provide this receipt to your town's tax office.

For details, see:

Thanks for the response. Had couple of more questions.

So, if i take off the license plates in CT, can I ship the car without a license plate?
I am moving to AZ. Will the dmv at AZ ask for my CT license plate? Can I drive around without a license plate there?
May be I am thinking too much!

Here is the process for registering a car from out of state in AZ:

https://azdot.gov/motor-vehicles/veh...state-vehicles

I suggest you keep the vehicle registered in CT until you get an AZ registration and then cancel everything CT via USPS.
