Had dinner last night at River in Wethersfield and there was extremely heavy activity in the sky over the river. At least 20 helicopters passed by heading north throughout dinner, hard to see through trees but most looked like the double rotor Chinook birds.

Is there a National Guard COVID base by Hartford?

We live a couple miles from there on the Glastonbury side of the Connecticut River. We hear/see a lot of helicopters and airplanes in our area. I believe it has to do with Brainard Airport being so close in the South Meadows of Hartford immediately north of Wethersfield. We also see/hear a lot of Lifestar helicopters coming to and from the hospitals in Hartford.

I can’t speak to what you saw but there are air military installations at Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks. I have also seen military helicopters going to and from Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford.

We have been to The River restaurant a couple times and were supposed to go again right when the Covid-19 crisis shut everything down. They have appeared to have a great large covered outdoor dining area. How was it? Was it crowded? Been thinking about going there soon. Jay

Sorry for late reply.

Outdoor patio is pretty expansive with enough distance between tables. Worth the visit as the food and drinks were good. They are adding another covered tent down next to the water so more table space will be available soon.

Thanks. We will have to go there soon. BTW, they are going to be showing drive in movies in that building’s parking lot. That should be fun too. Jay

Flight training, it was supposed to go on for a couple of weeks. They were out again last night. Between that and the fireworks, sleep is hard to come by these days!
