I'm moving to CT in a week and a half (yay!) and was just wondering what the price of gas is like over there?

This morning in East Lansing, MI I paid $3.73 for regular unleaded. Can I be hopeful for cheaper prices on the east coast?!

Not at all, unless you go to New Jersey. Today I paid $3.39 on the NJ Turnpike and when I came back to CT, it was $3.94. Prices in eastern and central CT are similar to what you paid in East Lansing. Southwestern CT prices are up there with CA.

This maybe needs to be another thread, but my husband has noticed a big drop in traffic on 84 during his commute. Do you think people are car pooling or they've lost their jobs?

We have a Stop and Shop Gas near us - if you shop there (grocery store) and spend $50 you get a coupon for 10 cents a gallon off the regular price. This consistently gives me the cheapest gas prices around. I paid $3.63 for 87 regular yesterday with the coupon.

There are also several BJ's that have gas stations attached that offer lower prices to their customers. Jay
