Karl,

Milford sounds like it could be the type of town that you are looking for, but you should definitely rent before buying. There are several apartment complexes in Milford and in the surrounding towns. As previous posts have mentioned, the train ride into Manhattan is relatively convenient for a night in the city (about 1.75 hours) but you will probably spend more time in New Haven (about 10-15 minutes east of Milford) where there a plenty of fun bars and trendy restaurants. Yale University is in New Haven, as well as several other colleges and universities, so yes, there are some attractive women around . Milford is on the water (Long Island Sound) in case you are interested in sailing or going to the beach.

It's amusing to me that you are interested in moving over here to the States... plenty of us would jump at an opportunity to move over there to meet some Swedish blondes!

Peter.

he, actually there are a lot of blonde people here in this country, but naturally that alone doesn´t stop me from moving. I am enthusiasticly awaiting my first visit to Connecticut.
Oh, and Peter, you are welcome to Stockholm, Sweden any time, the American tourists I´ve spoken to like it very much.

think I´m going to rent an apartment first, so thanks.

Karl

Actually it´s a shame you´re going there in June. I personally prefer Milford around the august-september period. As a previous poster mentioned the Oyster festival is in august, that is always great fun.
Anyway Milford is a fantastic town with lots of stuff to do during summertime. The winters can be a bit dull, but perhaps that is exactly what you´re looking for.

Anyway there are a lot of university townas nearby you can escape to if you get bored I bet those college girls would not mind having some swedish men around, I know I wouldn´t anyway

/Emma
