No stop and frisk - it's "profiling" - so the criminals have no fear of being stopped and arrested for carrying weapons illegally.

Car thefts skyrocket, with essentially no consequences for juveniles. Stolen car is then used for drive-by shooting. Adult male passenger was targeted (surely not for going to work every day to support his famiy), but 3 yr old child riding in the car is the one who gets killed. Nearby, an hour apart, probably unrelated, a 16 yr old boy is also shot to death. All on a gorgeous warm spring Saturday afternoon.

A baby. And a 16 year old.

The mothers with better survival instincts do anything they can to move with their kids out of Hartford. That 16 year old boy in fact resided in New Britain - somehow I doubt that he was up in Hartford in order to mow lawns to earn money.

I can only imagine how bad it's going to be through the summer.

And much of this won’t be reported as violent crime via UCR and NCVS thanks to Malloy. But crime is going down, they say.

So tougher policing would prevent it? Not a chance. Pure speculation, but they are probably casualties of the war on drugs.

The important thing is that it's reported on local news media, which it has. It's a very serious matter and the Hartford area public needs to be made aware and take precautions. Godspeed up there.
Most people don't know what UCR is (unless you work there of course )

From the article,
“These crimes tear families apart and they wound a whole community,” Mayor Luke Bronin said at a news conference Saturday evening. “We have to stand together to help our police solve these crimes, and do everything we can to end this kind of senseless violence.”

Thanks Mayor, as if we didn't know. A quote right out of central casting. Had it on file, just pull it out as needed. Inner city mayors worldwide practice this in front of a mirror.
Stricter policing or easy on crime policing. Neither works. Ever

I’d argue UCR is more widely known than “the stub”. *shrug*

So, we shouldn’t enact and enforce tougher laws against juveniles and hold them accountable and expect people to embrace personal responsibility, and instead play that race card, which has been worn to shreds. I see.
