Flights out of Bradley are usually higher priced (unless you can get the *ding* on SW Airlines). For European travel, most would prefer to travel to Boston or NYC for a cheaper flight without a connection. It all depends what you'd prefer - cheaper flight and longer drive, or pricier flight and shorter drive. Don't get me wrong though - you can find great deals out of Bradley. The steals though I usually find at JFK, sometimes Newark.

I would rather pay a little extra and fly out of Bradley on Northwest through Amsterdam. The convience of flying out of BDL is far greater than driving 2-3 hours and dealing with a mess @ JFK, BOS, or EWR.

Connecting in Amsterdam is easy and a short flight from the rest of Europe.

Great suggestion from DH co-workers. Rent a car in Stamford with drop off at JFK. The cost is under $40 with tolls with employee discount at Avis. Total round trip cost $80. I think, parking is around $230 per week at JFK.

I've used this company (based in jfk) JFK Airport Car and Limo Service NY, CT, NJ, PA before & found them very competitive, with good drivers & vehicles. Not sure how much Stamford-JFK would cost currently, with the fuel prices - probably close to $120 (taxes & tip included) one way

I've taken NWA to Amsterdam from Hartford and it was very convenient. However, I believe NWA has discontinued the service-- but there is talk that it is returning this summer.

Liberty Limousine 1-800-338-5466, cheaper than A Premier and Red Dot, both asking around $350. With Liberty I pay $270 from South Glastonbury to JFK. I have tried all three multiple times, they are all reliable and the service is very good.
