No shock from that whacky state. It is learning squat from an ex PD Dem winning the primary (NYC mayor) vs the Guardian Angels founder.

They are as dumb as we are regarding soft on crime legislators and governors in BOTH Ct & NY.

Oh come on now, I don’t know any town that added a lot of jobs. That number means each town added an average of 24 jobs each. I doubt any of Connecticut’s 169 municipalities hired that many. I’m sticking with the casinos. Jay.

I am sticking with the Courant analysis. Now my hunch is some of the 4,100 may have been callbacks, but I doubt the casinos added many jobs back. They are hardly thriving. As every state near us adds more competition, ours will reduce their headcounts.

The Courant doesn’t analyze anything in the article. They are just repeating what the Department of Labor stated in their news release. In this case, the local government means the Indian tribes which reopened both casinos on June 1st. In case you don’t know, the casinos employ thousands and it appears that as many as 4,200 were brought back in June. Jay

The June 1st reopening of the casinos was in 2020.
Until the last 4-6 weeks it was slow there, not employing many govt workers

Isn't EVERY Casino worker considered a government worker?

Thanks. I knew the casinos were open a long time, but had forgotten precisely when they started back up.

We can't control them. Sovereign territory.

Thanks for catching that (my bad) but I still say it’s the casinos that added these jobs. I know of no towns adding a lot of government jobs right now. They did not have mass layoffs during the pandemic and just last month bring workers back like was suggested. Jay
