No, it isn't. With one party rule, several more extensions are easy, at least until a new legislature is seated. It sailed through no issue this time, and few states are granting a governor such power at this time. Ca did, and Newsom is facing a recall election.
Newsom's recall is a joke, and there's no viable opposition. Besides, their main objection has evaporated. Have you seen the budget surplus that CA is running?
So, to clarify, just because [vaccinated] person A is scared of a virus that has a 99.8% chance of full recovery (likely higher due to the very large amount of asymptomatic cases), they’re demanding person B get a needle in the arm?
Sorry, but that’s just not how life works.
I can’t say I know anyone who had zero symptoms that got tested (and ultimately came out positive) just because.
I do. Plus you've got all the athletes. But besides that, it's pretty much an automatic when you go to the ER or a hospital nowadays...that they test you for COVID regardless of why you went there.
I wasn’t suggesting to the contrary, just noting that it’s becoming a thing. I also don’t remember this many vaccinated people becoming infected with a given virus, ever.
While we’re on that topic, it’s amazing to see the moving of the goal posts by the COVID-obsessed (I don’t mean you, Stylo, but in general). “Get vaccinated to stop the spread” leads to “it was never supposed to stop the spread”. It’s like people can’t think for themselves anymore, and essentially echo what’s told to them by politicians. The narrative is constantly changed to avoid being wrong.
It’s nuanced. People don’t like nuance. Requires too much critical thought.
Vaccine is very effective at preventing symptoms and VERY effective at preventing severe cases and deaths.
They also DO reduce spread as you’ll have much less viral shedding and duration.
But you may get an infection enough to test positive. Those tests are very sensitive.

Thank you for bringing a balanced perspective throughout the pandemic. Nice to hear a calm voice in the noise.
