Try GoldBelly and look for New England lobster roll restaurants and the like. They serve as shipping agents for perishables. I just shipped Ferraras Italian Pastry (Grand St, Manhattan ) to Scottsdale, Az as a 35th anniversary gift for best friends.

Many large restaurants, pastry shops, etc with folks who like sending their stuff long distance hook up with them. Usually first order gets a $15 coupon, half the shipping cost in most cases.

I’m half Hungarian and my family’s stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers were always made with a tomato base sauce so it’s not because your family is Italian.

My family loves the food at the Hungarian Bistro in Fairfield. It’s connected to the Calvin United Church on Kings Highway East which is a Hungarian Church. I’m not sure what they are doing with Covid so it’s best to call them to see what they have and if there’s indoor seating. My family usually just picks food up there. Jay

Try Russian, Polish or Greek restaurants- they should have it- it is one of their national dishes.
Greeks have variation - rolls with grape leaves instead of cabbage most likely- called dolmas?, but some Greek restaurants do cabbage rolls - Molyvos in NYC used to have good ones tiny cabbage rolls, but in light colored sauce.

Greek Spot has cabbage, but it appears light sauce based.

I will try Jay's recommendation at some point.

Another thing you could do is take a trip up to the Little Poland section of New Britain. There are a number of places there that serve stuffed cabbage. Not sure about stuffed peppers though. They may only offer it as a special. Staropolska is one of the better known Polish restaurants there. I haven’t been there in a while so can’t say if it’s still good.

Also very good is the Polish National Home in Hartford is also very good. I believe it’s now run by all volunteers. They offer stuffed cabbage but not stuffed peppers. People rave about it. Jay

I think I’ve seen it locally but cannot remember. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gaetano’s in Stratford used to in old location. Maybe not in new one.

Quick Google search shows it’s a special at Pop’s.
