Bonjour!
I am originally from Monroe but I lived in Quebec,Canada for quite some time. We now live in Southington (Plantsville) and we would like to hear from some other French-Canadians out there. We are struggling to keep the French language alive in our home as my husband's family only speaks French...

Any Quebecois out there?

Merci
Melanie

Default Bonjour Melanie

Bonjour Melanie,

Comment ca va? Je m'appelle Ravina et j'habite en Norwalk, CT maintenant. Je viens de Vancouver, BC.

I just moved here about a month ago with my husband. I am not French Canadian but my parents are from I'le Maurice where they speak a great deal of French along with the fact I spent most of my high school and early university years taking French classes. I would definitely like to brush up on my skills.

I was on this site looking to see if there are other Canadians in the area. I don't know how far Southington is from Norwalk, but if you are interested in meeting for coffee, let me know. I would like to meet other fellow Canadians.

My email address is:
ravina_g@hotmail.com

Merci and bon journee!

Ravina

Salut tout le monde!
I am a Canadian currently living on the South Shore of Montreal and I have the possibility to relocate to CT in the Wallingford / New Haven area. My wife and stepson are francophone and we would like to know if there are any schools that offer french immersion or a partially french curriculum so that he could ease into the anglophone enviroment. He is ten and has so far done his entire schooling in an all french school here.
I would really appreciate it if anyone could point us in the right direction. I am also glad to know that there are some canadians and especially some french speaking ones in CT!
Thanks very much for any help you can give!

There are many french speaking canadians that live in Connecticut.

Willimantic/Windham has many of them, so many that there is still french only services at the local churches. Most larger towns have French clubs as well.
