His option piece is more of his love of trivia and then says “New Haven is lively, I made friends, and the pizza is great.” He met Lamont. I just think it’s funny that it’s called why I love CT. My guess is the dude never left New Haven.

Seems like cheap publicity stunt on CT part.
Agree. And Lamont’s comment about “how smart we are in Connecticut” was, just kinda, toolish.

The other thing I admire about him is how often he clicks in before the others when he still doesn't quite have the answer. It's like he knows he's got just those few seconds to formulate it; he knows he'll get it, but the clicker comes first. Brilliant.

That is a trick of the champions as is starting with the higher amounts first to build your total as early as possible in case you get a Daily Double. That’s how you build a bigger jackpot. Jay

It was bound to end sometime but he is walking away with $1.5 million, the second most wins ever. Nice run Matt Amodio. Jay

He did well, but taxes will eat 4 in 9 dollars.

He should owe 691k on 1.518mm-so 827k for Matt. Well earned, Matt.

Very good run!

He will be paying taxes based on the CA rate as that is where he earned the money. His take home will be around $770K:

I got the impression he intentionally lost by delaying answers or not even clicking in. Seemed like he missed some easy ones.

And if that is what he did, good for him to let the competitors have a go at it. He made it to one and a half million before taxes, he had to get back to finishing his doctorate...maybe for him, he figured it was time. Came off as a classy guy, imo.

I mean, someone can fall in love with NY through NYC, Illinois through Chicago, California via SF.

Not that far fetched a line to draw to appreciating the state. New Haven is a microcosm of a greater area.

I swear, while this state is great, we are also adept at self-deprecation. Current and former residents alike.
