I agree with you 100%. An overpopulation of any species upsets the whole ecosystem. At the very least, it would be good if we could give the deer birth control, which is what I believe Darien did. People in my town freak out if you suggest culling the population in any way, and tell you to leave town if you don’t like “nature.” It’s so frustrating. And actual rural towns in CT have fewer deer problems because the deer aren’t pushed out of the woods into suburban neighborhoods.

Agree. I had deer in my backyard once and they got spooked from me opening the door and I couldn't believe my eyes when one hopped OVER the 6 foot fence. It did it so flawlessly without effort.


but I assume they would only jump a fence if they get spooked or being chased.. They typically don't just jump over a 6 foot fence.

So I agree 6 is a good start. 8 would be better but then it feels like your living in a box or jail


Put some Nellie Stevens Holly Trees there instead.
