The fascination of TJ's isn't limited to this state, I assure you. Anyone who enjoys shopping there would be thrilled to have one in close proximity once it opens, regardless of where they live. It just so happens that someone decided to start a thread about it here.
And if that leaves you to believe that this is exciting as it gets here in this state, drive cross country sometime on I-70. I did that with a friend when we were stuck in California during 9/11, and let me tell you, once you're east of Denver, you're in a part of the country that's thinly populated, flat, and there's nothing to do. The American West that we drove through (Arizona, Utah, and Colorado) is stunning and ideal for anyone who loves the outdoors (as I do), but go a little further east and it's a different world. You can drive for hours and feel like you've gotten nowhere. An occasional city (Kansas City, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus) disrupts an otherwise empty frontier. I have my issues with this state, but when people imply that it's the most boring place in the world, I'm reminded of where else I've been that puts CT in its proper perspective.
