Anyone know of a decent place to rent on a monthly basis? My husband is most likely going to have to move before me, while I stay behind and sell out house. So far I have found an extended stay in Manchester, which will be $2183 not including tax. There has to be an apt or condo for less than that, that can be rented weekly or monthly. Any help?

Where will be your primary points of interest once you are here? I am thinking that you could try Middletown. There are a few apartment complexes, and I'm sure that you could negotiate the length of the lease.

I will check out Middletown. Is it relatively safe there?

It's probably the same as Manchester or better.

Manchester can be a little scary if you don't know the area. Where are you looking to be after that or do you not know. Where are you/he going to be traveling to work?

You could try Vernon it is just the next town up from Manchester and much safer. You could also try West of the River depending on where you havet to travel to and from. If you are going to be working east of the river (Connecticut River) then you would probably want to be on that side so you don't have to deal with Hartford Traffic.

If you tell me where you need to be I might be able to tell you some places in Vernon that might be able to help you out.

I believe Brittany Farms Apartment Complex rents month to month. It is in New Britain but on the Farmington/West Hartford border and is pretty nice. I am guessing it is about $1200 a month to rent month to month, unfurnished. He could also look for a room to rent.
