I saw the map and it seems that these two towns may be about 5 minutes from eachother...? I guess each would be about an hour from Danbury? I am just trying to make the best of my visit since I can not realistically visit every single town suggested on this forum. I am first trying to figure out which town is worth visiting based on what I am looking for in a home and then which ones are close enough to eachother that I can visit them all while I am in CT for the week.

There is no direct route to Danbury. Possibly the quickest way would be I95 to Route 7, but don't get stuck on Route 7 during commuting hours, you'll be ready to blow up your car.

If you are looking at a map, the business area of Stamford is just north of I95. Try google maps and look for Stamford Town Center. That's the business area of Stamford. It's quite nice, and just a short ride on Route 1 to Greenwich.

Default from Danbury to Greenwich and Stamford

From Danbury, grab I84, to Rte.7 South. to the Merrit Pkwy. Roughly 30 minutes depending on time of day...Once on Merritt, Northern Stamford is
15 minutes, norther Greenwich is 25.
If you take Rte.7 to I95, add 5 minutes to the first leg, the rest is about the same except you wind up in southern Stamford,(the business district) and town center Greenwich.
Fairly easy unless it's rush hour, snowing or otherwise.

WhaleHead is partially wrong. It makes me about 45 minutes at about 11AM to get from 2 minutes south of exit 2 to get to the Merrit 7 office complex which is just south of the rt 7 connector to the Merritt Parkway. Then it would be another 15 Stamford and 10 more to Greenwich.

If I were going Danbury-Greenwich I'd take I-84, to I-684. Route 7 can be pretty slow at times.

As to the post about (25 miles from Stamford to greenwich), re-read the post. It said 25 minutes and depending how you go and in what part of town you need to go to, that can be accurate. I-95 is a nightmare at times...a lot of times.

It should be clearly stated that Greenwich and Stamford border each other. Depending on routes and traffic conditions, it can take literally a few minutes to drive through both cities, or considerably longer if there is heavy traffic.

Very true. If traffic is light it can take only a few minutes. Traffic congestion is the big factor.
