I'm planning on relocating from southern RI to downtown/ninth square NH. I have a pretty shingle style house to sell, but I plan on moving in August even if it doesn't sell (will have to rent to URI students) b/c I've heard it's harder to find rentals after the NH universities start up.

Another hitch is I have 2 small and medium sized dogs and a cat. It would be easier to buy with those obstacles (assuming the house sells), but I'm wondering if that area will hold it's value. My hunch is with all of the Yale investment and development in the downtown area that it will.

Any thoughts on all of this? I'm applying for administrative jobs at Yale (I have a JD) and one great thing about NH is it's walkability.

You could try the apartments on the green in new haven. I don't know if we can put web addresses here so try google searching - apartmentsinnewhaven (no spaces) - that is the site. The building is directly on the NH Green and dogs are allowed. The building has a doorman, garage, health club (same building but not included in rent), starbucks. In terms of price, I believe they rent 1 bedrooms around $1600 but you could check with them to see if that is still correct.
